A report from research and advisory firm Gartner reveals that lower-cost in-house legal departments spend three times as much as higher-cost departments on alternative legal services providers and double the amount on training. Lower-cost departments also do a larger proportion of work in-house rather than rely on external law firms. The report also says lower-cost legal departments made more “sustainable savings”.
